Healing Starts Within.
Impact Grows Outward.
A nonprofit foundation creating safer, more connected, and more resilient families and communities through trauma-informed education, mindfulness, practical resources, and community-centered support.

A Journey of Personal Healing to Community Healing
The Joy I’ve Found began with one woman’s journey of finding her way back to herself.
Founder Joy Green knows what it feels like to grow up believing you are unwanted, unworthy, and alone. Through her own journey of healing, education, mindfulness, and transformation, she discovered something powerful:
What happened to us can shape us without having to define who we become.
Today, that personal journey has grown into a broader mission.
The Joy I’ve Found is now a nonprofit organization focused on creating meaningful, community-based opportunities for healing, education, connection, and resilience.
Our work takes healing beyond the individual and into the places where people live, learn, work, parent, and grow.
Homes. Schools. Families. Organizations. Communities.
Our Mission
Helping People Heal. Helping Communities Thrive.
The Joy I’ve Found exists to help children, families, caregivers, and educators break cycles of trauma by creating safe, culturally affirming spaces for healing, learning, connection, and resilience.
Through trauma-informed education, mindfulness, practical tools, and community-centered support, we help people:
-
Understand how trauma can affect the way we think, feel, connect, and respond
-
Build emotional awareness and resilience
-
Develop healthier relationships with themselves and others
-
Create more compassionate homes, classrooms, and communities
-
Access resources and support that make healing practical and accessible
-
Reconnect with their identity, strength, and sense of possibility
We believe healing should not be a privilege. It should be part of how we care for one another.
What We Do?
Turning Healing Into Action
Our work brings together education, wellness, lived experience, and community support to create practical pathways toward healing.
You Don't Have to Figure It All Out Alone.
Healing doesn't always begin with a major transformation.
Sometimes it starts with understanding what's happening inside you.
A conversation.
A breath.
A new perspective.
A practical tool.
A safe space.
Our growing collection of resources is designed to make trauma-informed education, mindfulness, resilience, and emotional wellness more accessible to the people who need them.

Education is powerful. But sometimes communities need more than information.
They need access.
They need connection.
They need people willing to show up.
As a nonprofit, The Joy I’ve Found is building partnerships and initiatives that translate our mission into tangible community impact.
Our community work brings together partners, organizations, volunteers, educators, families, and supporters to meet people where they are and provide meaningful support.
From community resource initiatives to giving children the opportunity to begin the school year with the supplies they need, we believe small acts of support can create powerful moments of dignity, hope, and belonging.
Our recent community initiatives include collaborative efforts such as our community backpack giveaway, made possible through the generosity and partnership of organizations and individuals who believe in the mission.
Joy Is More Than a Feeling
Joy is not ignoring pain.
It is not pretending that difficult things didn't happen.
And it is not something reserved for people whose lives have been easy.
Joy can be a pathway back to ourselves.
It can help us reconnect with hope, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and imagine a future beyond what we've experienced.
At The Joy I’ve Found, we believe that healing starts within — but it should ripple outward.
When one person learns to regulate, they can respond differently.
When a caregiver understands a child's behavior, connection can replace shame.
When an educator understands trauma, a classroom can become safer.
When families have support before reaching crisis, cycles can begin to change.
Individual healing can become family healing.
Family healing can become community healing.
And community healing can become generational change.

Meet "Joy Green"
Joy Green is the founder of The Joy I’ve Found, a 5-time international bestselling author, TEDx transformational speaker, educator, CPI-certified trauma-informed specialist, Chopra Center-trained Global Meditation Leader, and transformational coach.
Her work brings together lived experience, education, trauma-informed care, meditation, mindfulness, resilience, and community-centered leadership.
But Joy's connection to this work goes beyond professional credentials.
She has lived the journey.
Her own experiences of feeling unwanted, unworthy, and alone became the foundation for a life dedicated to helping others find healing, hope, and connection.
Today, Joy leads The Joy I’ve Found with a simple belief:
Our pain can become part of our purpose without becoming our identity.

Our Vision
A Future Where Everyone Has the Opportunity to Feel Safe, Seen, Supported, Connected, and Whole.
We envision communities where no child grows up believing they are unwanted, unworthy, or alone.
Where families receive support before they reach a point of crisis.
Where educators and caregivers are equipped to respond to pain and behavior with compassion, understanding, and connection rather than shame or punishment.
And where people are empowered to transform pain into purpose, break generational cycles, reclaim their identity, and rediscover the joy that has always lived within them.
Healing should be accessible.
Support should be compassionate.
And no one should have to heal alone.
